Specialist, Board Certified in Veterinary Ophthalmology
On the Job:
Growing up in a household filled with pets, Dan Lorimer, DVM, DACVO, developed an affinity for animals as a young boy. Following that love of animals, he entered veterinary school where he focused his keen interest in both ophthalmic medicine and microsurgery. He later founded Michigan Veterinary Specialists – one of a handful of private, multi-specialty veterinary hospitals in the United States – to realize his vision of providing world-class care to pets. After growing his practice to include three hospital locations in Michigan, he merged his practice with BluePearl Veterinary Partners in 2011. Dr. Lorimer continues to practice ophthalmology and is especially interested in cataract surgery, ocular emergencies and trauma, glaucoma, ophthalmic microsurgery, laser therapy, and exotic animal ophthalmology. He also serves as the BluePearl Chief Medical Officer in Michigan and is a BluePearl board member.
